Education and Technology

Education and technology program will introduce an education outreach project to teachers an instructional resource and to provide and educationally sound curriculum focused on wireless communication.

An institution will provide teachers from elementary until university level with tools and strategies to introduce basic electronics, space technology and satellite communications, robotics, programming microcontrollers and weather science.

National policies supported innovations by articulating a broad vision for the use of technology in schools and linked it to education reform, efforts to increase student achievement and building the technological capacity of society.

This program is applicable to licensed and unlicensed teachers because this will serve as a professional development opportunity on both computer skills and the integration of technology into the curriculum. And at the same time the school will have some resources  or funds for instruction such as kits and related equipments.

Technology will support significant changes in classroom teachings and learning. This will paint a very different picture than the traditional classroom where the teacher lectures in front of the classroom and students take notes or do some paper works.

On virtual socialization

It is said that socialization is as important attribute of human society in order to survive. People nowadays would want to be in a virtual group.

Today, people can work even at home such as agent in some companies or businessmen. They would not be burning gasoline just to attend a company event.

As long as one has a computer as a visual window to the world, this can be a method of socialization without any discomforts associated with a long car trip.

But with those advantages, groups from cyberspace can hide their social behaviors as well as their genders. People has natural desire to socialize. Those who are shy to socialize in the real world would take advantage of the virtual world of socializing. This is reflected by that the use of technology enormously increased human interactions even though the development of technology and creation of virtual world possibly reduce person-to-person human interaction.

Missing the Snail Mail

Before letters, postcards, documents could be mailed through postal services. But it is a slow process. Envelopes, stamps, papers are needed. It needs to take several days before the document would reach to the person you are going to contact to. The problem with letters they may go missing.

Using internet is faster than mails. Information, letters such as application letters would reach their intended destination in a few seconds. Pictures and some other documents can be attached, too.

However, snail mail is also beneficial to areas wherein there is no electricity, to people who doesn't have computers and doesn't know how to use it and especially to those who doesn't have access to internet.

Some people would prefer postal letters which are handwritten than emails or letters that are computerized or typewritten. This would reflect a thoughtful process of action. I was reminded when my brother was studying in Rome for his theology, whenever we received  handwritten letters/letters sent through the post my tatay would be very happy and would always utter: your brother isn't busy, he has time to write a letter to us. But if we received  emails, tatay would always say: your brother might be very busy nowadays, he might have so many requirements to make.
A traditional letter, especially when it is hand-written, requires setting aside some time, choosing the appropriate paper or card, making uncorrectable mistakes of spelling or grammar – in many ways it resembles what you might say to a person in conversation.  In its mixture of spontaneity and character, it more closely approximates the personality of the author than the hastily-dispatched e-mail bulletin.
